Overview
For the last two decades, French freelance digital illustrator and concept artist Ron Le Fur has been creating richly realized science-fiction worlds. Known professionally as Dofresh and working from his home in Douarnenez, Brittany, his images of expansive, often futuristic, settings have informed the worlds on which numerous film, TV and videogame properties have based their settings.
Digitaline will be the debut publication from Le Fur, spanning 100 full-colour illustrations that reveal five worlds of epic scale and boundless vision. The settings of Imperium, The Grid, Irae, Until the Last Drop and Cannon Fodder chronicle conflicts between spacefaring civilizations; cybernetic, corporate-sponsored athletes; feuding petrostates ravaged by climate change; and an alternate Greek mythology that pits giant mechs against ancient beasts.
Each setting is introduced by a narrative vignette, offering a glimpse into the intricate worldbuilding that underpins each universe, enriching the immersive and cinematic visuals that make up Digitaline. In addition, the book opens with an in-depth introduction from the artist himself, discussing his personal journey in concept art and the inspirations behind the worlds on show in this bold debut monograph.
An essential volume for fans of science fiction, Digitaline marks the beginning of an exciting new strand of publishing for Read-Only Memory. We hope you'll join us in bringing it to life.

I’ve been a fan of Ronan’s work ever since I came across his online portfolio years ago. I was immediately drawn to his bold colour palette and unique design language ... There’s a true thoughtfulness behind every detail and design direction in his work.
